Sn0wbreeze 2.3 beta version is released by iH8sn0w to Jailbreak iOS 4.3 for windows. Sn0wbreeze 2.3 is not compatible with iPad 2 and tethered jailbreak. Here we have the complete guide to create custom firmware for iOS 4.3 and use iBooty to boot your idevice.

Pre-requisite

Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 can jailbreak following iDevices

iPhone 4
iPhone 3G
iPhone 3GS (new bootrom)
iPhone 3GS (old bootrom)
iPod touch 3G
iPod touch 4G
iPad

Create Custom Firmware for iOS 4.3 with Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1

Start iTunes and sync your iPhone with your PC to take backs-up all your important data like photos, apps and contacts.
Run Sn0wbreeze 2.3 in Administration mode. For doing so, right click the mouse button and select “Run as Administrator” and connect your iDevice to your PC via USB.
A prompt will appear to select the .ipsw firmware. ”Browse” to select the iOS 4.3 ipsw file. Select the file downloaded as above and continue.
Sn0wbreeze will automatically detect the device to be jailbroken and verify the IPSW. Once done click continue.
Now, you will see an screen to select either “Simple Mode”, “Expert Mode” or “Baseband Preservation Mode” . If you want just to preserve your baseband select “Baseband Preservation Mode” but if you want to jailbreak also, select “simple mode” as of now as ultrasn0w is currently broken on iOS 4.3.
A prompt will appear asking “Do you want to activate your iPhone?”. Select “Yes” if you are on unofficial carrier (ie other than AT&T) else select “No”. You can also choose an option to play PacMan while building firmware.
Now select ‘Build IPSW”. Sn0wbreeze will create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone which will be jailbroken. Wait for some time for Sn0wbreeze to complete its process.
Now you need to put your phone in DFU mode. For doing so, turn off your iPhone. Hold Power and Home buttons together for around 10 seconds. Now release Power button but still holding the Home button until your computer recognizes a new USB device. Now, iTunes will find your phone now.
Now, you have to restore to the custom firmware 4.1 created by sn0wbreeze just now. For doing this, click on your phone from the sidebar in iTunes and hold down “shift” key while clicking the “Restore” button on iTunes and then release the “shift” key. After this, iTunes will prompt you to select the ******** of the custom firmware 4.3. Select the new created custom 4.3 firmware and click “Open”.
Now, wait while iTunes automatically performs steps to jailbreak your device. Don’t click on anywhere and after installation is complete, your iPhone will restart automatically.

Now, your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad is successfully Jailbroken on iOS 4.3. As sn0wbreeze 2.3 is currently tethered and now you need to boot your idevice with iBooty.

Booting iOS device in Tethered Mode with iBooty
To boot your idevice with iBooty you need to add a file to your iOS device via SSH and then run iBooty whenever you need to boot into the jailbroken kernel.
